Other Types of Visas in Cambodia
Tourist visas, Business visas, and Ordinary visas are the most common types of entry permits for foreigners visiting Cambodia.
However, there are some additional Cambodia visa types for other travelers:
- Type-A visa: for foreign diplomats
- Type-B visa: for employees of organizations invited by the Cambodian government
- Type-C visa: for employees of international NGOs that have an agreement with the Cambodia Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Type-K visa: for people of Cambodian descent with a foreign passport
You must apply for these Cambodian visas in advance through an embassy or consulate.
Another key type of visa is the Cambodian visa on arrival. This is an option for most short-term visitors. However, it involves long waits at border control to complete the necessary visa paperwork.
It also does not allow any time to resolve any issues with the application. This means that if your visa on arrival is not approved, you’ll be forced to return home.
For these reasons, the eVisa is highly recommended instead of waiting until you arrive in Cambodia.
How to Get Different Types of Cambodia Visas
Tourists who meet Cambodia’s eVisa requirements do not need to attend an embassy or consulate, they can apply online from anywhere in the world.
Cambodia eVisa applicants submit the visa form electronically and receive the approved permit by email in 3 to 4 days.
All other visas, except for the tourist visa on arrival, must be requested at an embassy or consulate. Relevant supporting documents must be provided.
It takes longer to get an embassy visa than an eVisa, travelers must begin the application process well ahead of departure.
Documents required for different Cambodian visas
Travelers submit the application form, passport image, and photograph electronically when applying for the eVisa.
Other visa applicants need to make an appointment at the Cambodian Embassy and present the required documents.
Basic Cambodia visa requirements
All Cambodia visa applicants need:
- Valid passport

- Completed visa application form
Some nationalities will also need to provide a hotel reservation in Cambodia.
