What Is the e-Arrival Card?
The Cambodia e-Arrival card launched on September 1st 2024, and replaces traditional paper forms for immigration, health, and customs declarations. It’s a quick and easy way for authorities to collect information on passengers arriving in the country.
The process is 100% online. Filling out your form in advance means you can pass through border controls more conveniently and efficiently.
Who Needs the Cambodia e-Arrival Card?
All travelers, including UK, U.S., Australian, and Canadian passport holders, now need a Cambodia online arrival card.
Currently, the e-Arrival system is in place at Cambodia’s 3 international airports:
- Siem Reap International Airport (REP)
- Sihanouk International Airport (KOS)
- Techo International Airport (KTI).
It will later be rolled out to all of Cambodia’s seaports and border crossings. Paper forms are still available at entry points which do not currently accept e-Arrival cards.
Is the e-Arrival Card the Same as a Visa?
No, the Cambodia e-Arrival card is not a visa. It’s required by all travelers, whether you need a visa to enter Cambodia or not.
Citizens of many countries can get a Cambodian visa on arrival or apply for an eVisa in advance. This includes UK, U.S., Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand passport holders. Both permits allow you to stay for up to 30 days for tourism or business.
To stay for longer, or to study or work in Cambodia, you need to apply for an embassy visa.
You must present your approved arrival card for Cambodia, along with your visa and passport, to border officials when you arrive in the country.
How to Get Your Cambodia e-Arrival Card
To get your online immigrations and customs card, you need to complete an online application form. The Department of Immigration has also created an app, Cambodia e-Arrival, where you can fill out the same form.
You can only complete your arrival card in the 7 days before you travel. It’s not possible to apply earlier.
Requirements for the Cambodia immigration card
Here’s what you’ll need to fill out your e-Arrival card application form:
- Passport data
- Flight itinerary
- Accommodation details
However, to apply for your eVisa, you'll need a passport photo and an image of your passport’s data page.
Currently, you can only choose from Cambodia’s 3 international airports when selecting your destination in the online form. Once the e-registration scheme has been expanded, other entry points will be added to the list.
Submit your declaration online
To begin your application form, select ‘foreign traveler’. You can opt for an individual form if you’re travelling solo, or a group declaration if you’re visiting with family.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing the arrival card process:
- Add your personal details and passport data.
- Give your travel and accommodation details.
- Provide information about items you’re carrying into Cambodia.
- Answer some health and travel questions.
- Get your approved QR code.
You must print a copy of your QR code or show a screenshot, when passing through immigration controls in Cambodia.
Customs declaration
As part of your e-Arrival card form, you must make a customs declaration about the items you’re bringing into Cambodia.
Below are the maximum limits on some restricted items. If you’re carrying these items in greater quantities than listed, you must declare this when completing your arrival card.
