Nationalities who are neither eligible for visa-free entry nor the Cambodia eVisa can apply for a visa at a Cambodian embassy or on arrival at the border.

Documents Required to Apply for a Cambodian eVisa

  • valid passport
    To successfully apply for the Cambodian eVisa, you need to have a valid passport issued by one of the eligible countries listed above. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Cambodia.

    An email address must be provided on the form. After the application is processed, the approved eVisa for Cambodia is sent to the email address given.

    It's recommended to check your Spam/Junk folder in case the eVisa doesn’t arrive directly to your inbox.
  • credit card
    A credit or debit card is also required to pay the visa fee.

Additional documents to submit on Cambodia eVisa application

You also need to upload a copy of a recent passport photo and the biographical page of the your passport.

You can provide these additional documents at a later date, though it’s recommended to submit them when you first apply to save time.

It’s essential that you follow the Cambodia visa photo requirements before uploading your photo.

Certain nationalities are also required to submit a hotel reservation and/or an invitation letter.

Cambodia Entry Methods

There are 3 major airports with commercial flights including Phnom Penh Airport, the busiest airport in the capital

You can enter Cambodia by air or land. Siem Reap International Airport provides access to the temples of Angkor and Sihanoukville International Airport offers connections to neighboring countries.

Visitors can enter by land using any of the land border crossings. There are 7 with Vietnam, 5 with Thailand, and one with Laos. There are also 3 major sea ports: Sihanoukville on the Gulf of Siam, Phnom Penh on the Mekong River, and the provincial port of Koh Kong.

Note: The Cambodia eVisa is not accepted at seaports.

There are multiple ways of traveling between Cambodia and Thailand. Travelers can either fly by plane, travel by boat or cross one of the 5 border crossings by land.

The most common way of crossing the border is by bus. There are immigration checkpoints where passports and visas are checked by the border authorities.

Cambodia and Vietnam share a long border which includes 7 border crossings.

There are numerous bus companies which operate between the 2 countries, and visitors also have the option of flying.

Cambodia-Laos border

Cambodia and Laos share a short border, therefore there is only 1 border crossing.

The Trapeang Kriel/Nong Nok Khiene crossing connects Stung Treng in Cambodia with Don Det in Laos.
